A new build at Satori Artist Retreat this year was our recycled satellite chicken coop. We built it from an old satellite frame, and added salvaged barn tin roofing. ( Michael has the many tiny metal cuts to prove it! What a job that was!) Then we added salvaged house siding, and an old door cut down with a rounded top to echo the roof design. Everything was salvaged … everything but the nails and screws. Now our new chooks, Mabel, Madge, Mimi, Edna, and Bea (all named after dear friends of ours) are the proud owners of this fabulous little coop.
We have such fun at Satori Artist Retreat … creating more interesting spaces for our friends, guests, and family. And this time it was the chooks that benefited!
