Awards from PEI Rural Beautification Society

This past summer we were once again delighted at Satori Artist Retreat to win in three categories from the PEI Rural Beautification Society awards: Best Mailbox, Best Recycled-Repurposed Creation, and Window Boxes and Planters.

We made our new chicken coop from a recycled frame of an old large satellite dish. It was a heaps of work, but we liked how everything turned out. All materials in the coop were salvaged or repurposed. And now the coop is the happy home of our five hens: Madge, Mabel, Mimi, Edna, and Bea. Fresh free range eggs are now a staple at Satori!

Our mailbox was a fun nod to the many beauties of PEI. The “you are here” map, tiny lighthouse, mermaid, potatoes, lobster, and shells are all treasures found on this special little island! (I keep watching for a mermaid in St Mary’s Bay …)

We are thrilled to be one of the PEI Rural Beautification Society award recipients for 2019. Let creativity reign at Satori Artist Retreat. Long live artful salvaged creations and our wild imaginations!
